We released it! Heidi reports on our success. It’s another great example of what we’re all capable of accomplishing together. Launch was well-received. Promotional materials were a big help. Action on Twitter was robust.
August was an exceptional month for us, with eight (!!) new video and print publications. Congratulations to all and many thanks for your contributions.
We review the publication calendar to see what’s on the horizon and set priorities for the month. Ben Owens provides an update on the recently released roundtable discussion about open educational organizations (available now!).
Channel analytics from August:
- Gained +4 subs (42 subs total)
- Top 5 videos (By Views): Open & Adaptive Leadership; ATA EP07 (Open seems like hurt feelings); Open Leadership Definition; ATA EP08 (Encouraging honest dialog); ATA EP05 (Ants, Trash Cans & Open Orgs)
Our views are very low; will start working on a plan for this after October as it relates to social media sharing and group sharing to get the word out. Will also address formats and lengths to increase view time.
Discussion on the table for a possible Live Stream with Chat of an open discussion on neurodiversity as seen from personal expereiences/perspectives (or recorded panel with Live Chat during Premier Release)
Several key articles in the pipeline right now. Ron is recording a new presentation next week. Heidi is working on two more pieces from her interview with Sam.
Bryan working with Jos to turn his recent series on talent management into an eBook. Would like this to be an experiment with a new kind of printed “content type” from the community—something that sits between “article” and “book.” All feedback and ideas welcome.
Jen: Sorry can’t be with you today…deadlines! Hope everyone is doing well
Heidi: Getting a tattoo of the Open Leadership Definition (we will be checking back in on this)
Jimmy: Will begin working at Red Hat on October 04!
Ron: Thinking about the sharing economy and implications for community building. Also interested in exploring cooperatives (attn: Laura!). Bryan will create a GitHub issue for discussing and planning this.
